City in the memory
City in the memory, one of my latest and favourite artwork (finished in March 2018). I wanted to create a region of buildings which could have existed in the Middle Age by the sea. The region was planned as two parts, one is the cultural centre, the other is the residential area.
For the cultural centre, I decided to build a open palace where everyone can go in when there would be any public events. It was structured asymmetrically and I used indigo as the colour of the roof to show uniqueness and significance. There is a tower high up on the top of the building to ensure that everyone in the city can see the palace, which may guide people when they get lost and can symbolize the entire city. The other part of the city is more lively, it contains houses, a market, a public bath, a wharf and so on. The two parts are connected by several bridges where people could feel interaction with both buildings and the nature.

To me, this one is with the highest degree of completion among all my designs so far because it contains the layout of a whole small civil area and the environment around it is also set in place. People say that architecture is about humanity, and by building a community region I really feel the special attraction between buildings and people.
