- Moon, Stars and Dawn

New concept, my latest design (July 2019).  It is based on the background of serious global-warming trend, as the sea level rises gradually, citizens living in low-altitude cities will have to invent and build new community areas (To prevent homelessness) which will be constructed on shallow water and contain many structures of various usages (e.g. houses, stairs and public sites) in one huge building unit so that maximum use of ground can be achieved and less pressure will be faced on traffic.

There are two main parts of the design: The one with greater magnitude is designed to be the centre of the whole submerged area, buildings with significant applications (e.g. palaces, chapels and shopping malls) are mainly centralized here, besides, there are more attentions on the aesthetics because it is going to be the symbol of the city; The one with smaller magnitude is more like a residential area as the housings are very concentrated, it is designed like that to make sure the ground is fully used and it can hold as many people as possible.

The main building is in the style of Art Deco, however, the front gate is a combination of many different styles of structuring, including Romanesque, Modernism, Chinese style and so on. Inside the building, there is a huge open area filled with various kinds of public activity sites, and people can come inside from all four directions (E, S, W, N) because 8 large archways are set and do not get closed 7/24.  People can do everything here, above the water.

(Realistically, I fully appreciate that nowadays people would not put European style at the top of their wishing list because of the expansiveness and the inefficiency, not to mention hanging huge moon-and-star signs on the surface of a building.  But, designing should not be limited at the first place.  Only crazy imaginations and brave practices could push our appreciation of beauty and possibilities of life to a new stage. )
